Add-On: PDF Upload / Drag and Drop
As an admin user I would like the ability to upload PDFS and drag and drop where the signer input fields should go on the pdf so that I can easily upload pdfs.
- Admin will be able to upload PDF
- Admin will have access to signer input fields
- Panel will be easy to use and include drag and drop functionality
- Database will save info inputed from user
We are currently working on this feature.

Just adding my input to this great idea.
The ability to upload a pdf would be perfect for my situation as well. I have another system which I do exactly that, where the pdf has the signing shortcodes already in the pdf and after upload, nearly everything is ready to go. So keeping the shortcode ability is important for myself. Also I enjoy the lack of drag and drop with your product. I find that feature adds lots of weight and potential clashing with other plugins. Im not saying do not add it, but I wanted to throw in my opinion.

Any update yet of a release?
Highly anticipated...... -
Hi April,
The good news here is that...
We recently added yet again, another developer to help exclusively with this task. So now, we have a small (active) team whose ENTIRE focus is literally on knocking this feature out of the park.
Progress update: The core code and functionality/proof of concept is working. Now it's a matter of building out the interface (which has already been designed), adding conditional logic, debugging and fine tuning the flow so that it is absolutely intuitive. From what I've seen I can assure you that the wait will be worth it. :-)
We'll definitely keep you posted... and will have a more accurate idea of where we stand (timeline wise) by next month.
Kind Regards,
Kevin at ApproveMe

Any update on this feature? In desperate need and judging from your comments on Feb 2 I'm hoping that you are close. -

Really need this feature.

Hi John,
Thanks for reaching out! We’re thrilled to hear from you.
I noticed your recent inquiry about our PDF Upload/Drag and Drop feature.
I can hardly wait to get this feature done myself… it’s been one of the most request features of all 2015. And it’s for that reason that it is our top #1 focus.
Our development team is working around the clock (literally) to get this feature ready for beta. Since it’s a new feature (that’s essentially a brand new plugin with a completely different user interface) it has taken longer than I’d personally like for it to. It’s really difficult to assign an official date on it but based on the progress I’d say we’re only a couple months or so away from at the very least a beta version.
It’s looking really great though! I can’t wait to share it with our customers.
Sincerely,
Kevin at ApproveMe

Is there any update on the beta release for this feature?
-
Erica,
This is our top #1 feature priority for the new year. We have already started development. And have an incredible team working on this feature. It's a major project but we hope to announce a beta version in the coming months.
Hope you have a terrific week.
Regards,
Kevin

I also bought this plugin thinking that it had this feature. Is there any update on the beta release?
-
Everyone here at ApproveMe is also chomping at the bit to get this feature out! The good news is that the team has already started production on this feature (a few months back) and things are moving right along. The PDF component has multiple moving parts and solicits the input from multiple advisors and developers... It's looking like after the holidays we should be well positioned for a beta release.

Any updates on when this will be implemented? I purchased this plugin solely thinking this feature was already in place. In my line of work, contracts are generated by the state and governing bodies and can't be converted to text and then signed. We require signatures on already generated PDF files.

This feature is currently under development.

Yes, Agreed, this is exactly how Adobe Echosign works.

Hi Kevin, I agree with you 100%. Being a self-hosted WordPress plugin we had a few more security concerns and hurtles than most SaaS/cloud based web apps. We have invested heavily (prior to development) into the best and most secure way to introduce PDF option in a way that protects the signers from being a victim of file tampering. The good news is that after MUCH TIME we recently finished ironing out these concerns and have started the development of this new feature. Being such a large feature it will take a few months to complete and properly test. If you do need a refund in the meantime feel free to let our support department know. We're glad you gave our current version a shot and hope to see you again as soon as this feature is live. We'll be sending out a major email announcement (and possibly a party) once this feature is live. :-) Thanks again for your feedback.

I will be asking for a refund because you don't have this feature. This is just a dead basic requirement of a serious e-signature platform, you have to have it. I have my customers filling out a government form, so workarounds just won't work.

Thank you for being our customer... and thank you for your kind and honest feedback. Our team couldn't agree with you more! We wanted to make sure the foundation was set to scale the plugin to "enterprise application" status. And we're definitely well on our way. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions (or ideas) we're always happy to help!

Thank you for your update.
The plugin is nice overall. Email a PDF is great, specifically.
Uploading a PDF or placement of the signature field at specific locations is critical to making this plugin a nice feature to a primary method of doing business.
It is difficult to implement the plugin for a business when some contracts can be digitally signed and others need to print, scan, etc...
I bought the plugin last week. With your note below, I'll stick around in hopes that this feature will be developed soon.
Thanks again.

APPROVEME UPDATE:
We have spent majority of 2015 adding crucial core functionality, building out our API, developing add-on integrations, security fallbacks and updates and stabilizing the add-on updater system. All of these items have been a required predecessor to the "PDF Upload Drag and Drop" feature.
We have only a couple more internal improvements we'd like to make to the user management system before we believe the plugin is ready to take on such a large new document type/flow.
From day one we've been planning on adding this feature... it's not a matter of "if" but "when" and we as a team feel that we are now 95% ready to "start going down this road." We will update you again as the development commences.

There was a Q2 or Q3 estimate below. Any updates on when we can expect this feature?
