This seems like a basic need and now almost 3 years later, it is still not addressed. I’ve recently purchased ApproveMe and will be returning it prior to my 14 trial period ends, many for this exact issue. I’ve tried to add Gravity Forms and all it’s options with still no way of getting an automated workflow from end-user initiated form. Unlike Keven noted in comment below this is not always a Basic document from a template, particularly if integrated with any form tool like Gravity Forms. I’ve been working for several days to get my clients site working with ApproveMe and while I love the cost and simplicity, this is a show-stopper.
